book of the week...

The King's Taster by Kenneth Oppel

Another great book that Noah loves, (Pirates is still his current fav though!). He absolutely LOVES his bedtime stories. And I love reading them to him!

Here is a review of the book:

"Max is the cook's dog. And because he is also the king's taster, Max gets to feast on French Fries! Rose Pudding! Pizza! No wonder Max loves his job. Who wouldn't want to dine on these delicious dishes? The new king, that's who. And if the new king has his way, it won't just be their job that the cook and Max lose!"

the good ole days...

Ok this picture isn't that old, but I was looking through older pictures this week and came across my wedding album from a few years ago. I love this picture of me and the girls! I have it framed in my house (actually framed in a box right now!) I have definitely made new friends since this picture, but am happy to say that my besties are still around.

finally moving on...

Well my friends, I am happy to announce that we will finally be moving into our house in the next weeks! Official move in date is set for June 5th, although it will take us a good week or so to move things in and get settled before we actually sleep there. I cannot tell you how excited I am to be in this house. It is my dream home, everything I could have asked for in a house, it is for me. AND, I will have my very own craft room! (so lots of crafting posts to come in the future!) It is tiny, but I will manage to cram all my supplies and sewing machine in there and probably never leave it! My husband is painting that room for me tonight, a wonderful shade of lilac. I wanted something cheerful and I just love purple.
So my home sweet home will actually be HOME very soon! And I don't think I will ever renovate another house again!!!

another good day...

So, one of my last blog posts, I posted a picture of a pair of shoes I was "liking" and definitely wanting. Now, if I went out and bought everything I liked and had my eye on, my husband would kill me and we would be completely poor. I posted the shoes thinking I would start posting things I was liking at the moment that were on my wish list.
On Sunday, Adam handed me an envelope from a sweet friend at church which looked like a gift card to me. I assumed it was a baby gift, which I thought was so sweet. I opened it up and found this...

She got me a gift card to purchase the shoes. I was so touched and surprised. Not surprised that she would do something like that-it actually doesn't surprise me at all, she is a very giving person, just surprised that she felt led to do it for me. It completely made my day, week, month...Needless to say these shoes will be very special to me. IF I can find them! They seem to be sold out right now but I am on the mission to find them!
So thank you friend, you know who you are!

a pirate's life for me...

Noah absolutely loves to be read to before bedtime. He has lots of books on a bookself in his room, but lately almost every single night he chooses this book...

He calls it "Pi-Pi", short for pirate! So cute! And we are trying to teach him that a pirate says "arrgghh". This is a super cute story of a little boy, Jeremy Jacob, who left the beach to join a group of pirates for a day. I won't ruin the story for you,(hehe) but if you have a little boy this is a great book to get. I'll keep sharing his current favorites in the future! I love to see the excitment on his face when we open a book, as if he has never seen that one before!

like, like, like

I am really liking these new shoes from Cynthia Vincent for Target. They are on my current "wish list", which is basically an ongoing list of current things I am wanting. Unfortunately, not everything gets marked off that list, but when something does, it's an exciting day for me. : )

good day...

We got a great report from the doctor today on Naomi's health. She, of course, is doing great, has a strong heartbeat and is wiggling all around! We also got the results from our bloodwork and everything came back normal. ALSO, I am super excited that I got her adorable dress in the mail today! I love it so much and CANNOT wait to see her in it! Today is a GOOD day!!

Night Light International

Adam surprised me on sunday with this bracelet I had been wanting from NightLight International. I can't remember how I came across their organization, but I was so touched by their message and motives. Their mission is..."to build relationships and provide hope, intervention, rescue and assistance to women and children exploited in the sex industry by offering alternative employment, vocational opportunities, life-skills training and physical, emotional and spiritual development to women seeking freedom." Very cool! I bought a bracelet as a gift for someone for Christmas and plan on supporting them by continuing giving their jewelery as gifts. Check them out!

reflection...

Today I thought all day about the day I became a mother. Such an emotional, exciting, exausting day! So that, of course, led me to look at Noah's baby pictures. Here are some of my favorite pictures from my first days as a new mom.
so much love!
changing his diaper for the first time, right before he peed all over me!
first sunday at church
This guy has stolen my heart big time! I am so blessed to be his mommy! I can't believe next year I will have TWO wonderful children! Wow!
