CRAZY!

Can't believe I forgot to share this story in my previous Disney post! Our first morning in Disney, we were almost ready to walk out of our hotel, when I heard Noah coughing. He was congested, but I went over to him to make sure he was ok and his face was super red and he was gasping for air. I screamed to Adam that he was choking, and he quickly picked him up and started beating on his back and checking his mouth. He started crying very quickly, then threw up, which was a good sign because I knew he could at least breath. I asked him if he put something in his mouth and he responded with "I eat penny". And sure enough his little hand had several coins in it. So after calling the pediatrician, and them assuring me he was ok and that the penny would more than likely pass on it's own in 48 hours, I calmed down enough to enjoy the day! Two days later, we had a penny! I could not believe it had happened, and am so thankful for his protection, that he actually swallowed it and it didn't get lodged in his throat. I thought we were well passed the stage of putting things in the mouth, but now I am being super careful with small things around the house again. We made an effort to tell him that he could not eat pennies that they would give him a very bad boo-boo. I think it scared it pretty badly so hopefully he has learned and we will never have a repeat of this!
Here are some humorous pictures of Noah in Disney. So thankful for this boy. He is hilarious to me, and I love his silly personality.

I asked him to smile for me, this is his fake smile.

then he gave me this face....

then this! Funny thing is, as soon as I would put the camera down he would start smiling. He thought it was hilarious that he was making faces for the camera.

2nd bday party

I really can't believe Noah's 2nd birthday has come and gone. We had such a fun day celebrating with him! Our original plan was to head to the beach, but because of the weather, we decided to attempt taking him to his first movie. After a pit stop at the Disney store to pick out a Mickey doll, we headed to see Toy Story 3. Surprisingly, he did very well. He sat through almost the whole movie, eating snacks and popcorn most of the time! He is actually pretty into watching movies.
That night, we celebrating his day with dinner at our house with both sides of the family. I had baked up a storm the day before and I am pretty happy with my creations! Noah didn't care too much about his cake, all he wanted was the Mickey Mouse "too-ties", in which he demolished!
So the day was a blast! He walked around all day saying "a bir-day", probably because we had told him about a bazillion times that it was his birthday. I think he felt very special!

picking out his mickey although he was much more interested in a ball, which we had to buy as well!

TWO!

Adam and I were not planning on having children for a few years. Shortly after our one year anniversary, I got sick. And I mean SICK. Two weeks after throwing up and being treated for several different things, I decided to take a pregnancy test. Adam and I were out of town in Atlanta and I told him if I didn't feel better soon, he was going to have to take me to the hospital. I was completely shocked to see 2 pink lines (or were they blue?) on the pregnancy test. I honestly did not think there was any way I was pregnant, but we were completely over-joyed. Shocked, but thrilled! We both wanted to be parents and this was God's timing for us to become them!
On July 2 2008, at 4:38pm, 9 loooong months and 55lbs later, I gave birth to my sweet, wonderful Noah Thomas, coming in at 8lbs 14 oz. I was induced at 7am, and pushing around 3pm. It was a pretty quick labor and after less than 2 hours of pushing, my big boy finally was here! He was a little bruised and purple, but when they gave him to me, all I could focus on was that he was here and he was perfect.
I seriously can't believe my baby is 2 already. It has been amazing to watch him grow, and enjoy every stage. He is such a sweet boy and has been a wonderful son. I honestly never imagined I could love him so much. He has changed tremendously over the past 2 years. Here are just a few of my favorite pictures of him.

Noah-you have no idea how you have changed me as a person. You made me a mother and have taught me so much. My heart bursts with love for you. Happy 2nd Birthday Baby!

a pirate's life for me...

Noah absolutely loves to be read to before bedtime. He has lots of books on a bookself in his room, but lately almost every single night he chooses this book...

He calls it "Pi-Pi", short for pirate! So cute! And we are trying to teach him that a pirate says "arrgghh". This is a super cute story of a little boy, Jeremy Jacob, who left the beach to join a group of pirates for a day. I won't ruin the story for you,(hehe) but if you have a little boy this is a great book to get. I'll keep sharing his current favorites in the future! I love to see the excitment on his face when we open a book, as if he has never seen that one before!

pitter-patter

I love alot of things about my son. There actually is not much I don't love about him. But, one particular I have enjoyed lately is the surprisingly loud pitter-patter of his chunky feet throughout the house. He walks as though his feet are made of solid lead, a trait I say (and my mother-in-law agrees) is from his father.
Noah is not a big fan of shoes, so almost all of the time his feet are bare. For some odd reason, this week he has decided that he wants to wear his cowboy boots that his beloved DeDe bought him, all over the house. So the pitter-patter has changed into more of a horse's galloping. Seriously-he walks so heavy! (also, imagine a grumpy/wild little boy! he has been quite crazy lately!)
A sweet memory from my childhood was brought back to my mind. I used to love cowgirl boots. Still do really. I very vividly remember my mother taking me to Walmart to buy me cowgirl boots when I was probably around 5ish. They were black and very pointy and, I'm sure, a huge sacrifice for her to even afford to buy for me, since we did not have much money. I wore them everywhere with everything. I can specifically remember wearing them with my PJ's on and walking all over our wood floors in our little white house, that eventually burned down. I also loved that house.
So it was very sweet to see my little man galloping around the house in the boots I think he now oddly loves, totally reminding me of myself years ago, probably completely annoying my mother. It made me forget about my frustrations of raising a wild little boy, and really savor this hilarious moment with him.
